Bruce Changed the Face of Popular Music Forever**
Click to DonateThis documentary tells an inspiring story of the enormously talented musician, Bruce Langhorne, who overcomes physical, emotional, and societal obstacles to find his true self and make a lasting impact on the world. Bruce became the go-to guitar accompanist in segregated New York in the early ‘60s, playing a crucial role in the top folk artists’ transition into folk-rock. Despite his monumental impact on the music world, Bruce Langhorne remains largely unknown—a true “Invisible Legend” whose story is waiting to be told.
At its core, Invisible Legend is a film about listening and being present. Those qualities enabled Bruce to create a sound that seemed to come from “inside the music.” They are also key to engaging with others in a way that makes people feel seen. We hope that this journey back to the music and idealism of the ‘60s will create an experience of connection and love.

“I have fingers missing on my right hand, which is a mixed blessing because it meant I had to find things to play that didn’t rely on flash. That really helped me; it taught me the lesson that you’re only partially your body. There’s something inside, call it spirit, that transcends your vessel. When you open to the path of love, whatever walks down that path for you, that’s spirit.”
-Bruce Langhorne
